Top 10 foreign striker of V-League 2000-2009

This ranking is based on level of contribution and amount of time playing in Vietnam.

10. Mauricio Luis (Argentina - born 1976 - ACB Ha Noi 2001-2006)
Before joining ACB Ha Noi in 2001, Mauricio had once played for famous Argentine club Boca Junior. He is known as best striker ever playing for ACB Hanoi and will become new head coach of this team in 2010 season.



9. Neto Baiano (Brazil - born 1982 - Binh Duong 2004)
Neto Baiano spent one season with Becamex Binh Duong in 2004 and became best striker of the club at that point of time. Neto is now playing for JEF United in J-League.

8. Gaston Merlo (Argentina - born 1982 - SHB Da Nang 2009- )
Gaston Merlo joined Da Nang in 2009 and achieved the top goal-scorer award of V-League 2009 with 15 goals. He is now one of the most important players of champions Da Nang.



7. Philani Kubheka (South Africa - born 1979 - Binh Duong 2005- )
Ex-Orlando Pirates player is better known as a left winger but he can play quite well in forward position. He has scored a lot of important goals for Binh Duong.



6. Antonio Carlos (Brazil - born 1978 - GDT Long An 2005- )
GDT Long An's loyal striker is always an indispensable asset of the club. He has speed, strength, technique and good finishing.





5. Emeka Achilefu (Nigeria - born 1974 - Nam Dinh 2002-2003, ACB Ha Noi 2004, Da Nang 2005)
Achilefu became well-known for winning V-League 2003 Top Goal-scorer award when playing for Nam Dinh. He has retired recently and is working as a free scout in Vietnam.




4. Kiatisuk Senamuang (Thailand - born 1973 - HAGL 2002-2006)
Kiatisuk is a legend of HAGL. He helped the club win 2 V-League titles in 2003 and 2004. He is now new head coach of HAGL in V-League 2010.




3. Amaobi Uzowuru (Nigeria - born 1981 - Nam Dinh 2004 & 2009 - , Da Nang 2005 & 2008, Binh Duong 2006-2007, The Vissai Ninh Binh 2008)
Amaobi won V-League Top Goal-scorer award in 2004. He has played for a lot of Vietnamese clubs.




2. Kesley Alves (Brazil/Vietnam - born 1981 - Binh Duong 2005 & 2007 - , HAGL 2006)
Kesley won V-League Top Goal-scorer award in 2005 and he is always considered one of best V-League players. He was granted Vietnamese nationality in 2009.



1. Jose Emidio Almeida (Brazil - born 1979 - SHB Da Nang 2005- )
Almeida has highest average number of goals per match in some recent V-League seasons. He won V-League Top Goal-scorer award in 2007 and 2008. Almeida is considering taking Vietnamese citizenship.
