Will Leandro stay put at Hai Phong?

Hai Phong captain, Brazilian playmaker Leandro, is the soul and the brain of his club, a rare talent in V-League. Despite Hai Phong has not tasted any glory in domestic competitions recently, Leandro is still labeled the best player of V-League among football fans for last two years. While V-League 2010 is coming close to an end, Hai Phong is sitting at second place but doesn't have much chance to catch up with Ha Noi T&T in the ladder.

Another season with no title is simply not enough for an ambitious side like Hai Phong but the new matter is how to keep its best players at Lach Tray Stadium next season. Leandro is definitely someone Hai Phong wants to keep most. His contract is running out at the end of year 2010 but no renewal was mentioned. It was reported that the former Brazil U23 member had received some offers from other clubs, where he could earn not only big bucks but also titles. Is it time for Leandro take a new step in his career?

Looking back at the past, in 2008, Leandro rejected an offer of playing at Spanish Segunda Division to remain at Hai Phong because he couldn't get such lucrative paycheck anywhere else than Hai Phong as he admitted. But things have changed. Many clubs are now ready to offer Leandro not less than what he made at Hai Phong. Maybe one of them cam tempt him to leave Hai Phong for new challenges in near future. Let's wait and see!

Leandro is currently the best-paid player in V-League with a monthly salary of US$14,000.

Pham Thanh Luong to Hai Phong?

It's not the first time Vietnam international Pham Thanh Luong has been linked with a move to Hai Phong. This time, Hai Phong offered goalkeeper Bui Quang Huy and 3 billion VND (about US$160,000) in exchange for the Vietnamese Golden Ball 2009 winner. Although ACB Ha Noi president Mr. Kien denied the transfer, it's believed that a move could be imminent.

Hai Phong banned again

VFF has decided to punish Xi Mang Hai Phong for many violent incidents committed by their fans.
As latest report, Hai Phong will have to play its next home game versus HAGL at neutral stadium and will be responsible for all the cost.

Last weekend, Hai Phong fans, as usual, fired some flares and threw bottles into the pitch of Lach Tray stadium in the game between the home side and Ninh Binh. Their conduct resulted in having their beloved club banned from its home soil next game. This is not the first time Hai Phong is punished for its supporters, which are the most infamous and aggressive in Vietnam. Last year, Hai Phong fans were banned from attending away games after their clash with police at Hang Day stadium. Further in 2008, they were banned from attending one game at Lach Tray stadium.

Every time Hai Phong plays at Lach Tray , there are about 25,000 fans cheering for the home team.
