Binh Duong earned enough points to stay at V-League while Da Nang in danger

At the same time last year, the headline was: 'Binh Duong finished as runners-up, losing champions title to Da Nang'.

In a somewhat crazy season, Binh Duong has just made it enough to stay away from relegation zone following a 2-2 draw with home side Da Nang last round while there are still two games to go in V-League 2010. It has been 5 games since the last time Chelsea Vietnam won but the whole squad were little bothered. Their goal is to win the league and they have given up since the last defeat at Khanh Hoa. The club was tipped as biggest contender for championship but it was a disappointing second leg that destroyed the dream. A squad with best V-League stars was not enough for Binh Duong to overcome backroom unrest to fully focus on V-League. Their season was over and it's now time to make some important changes in the club.

For Da Nang, this season is even worse. After hearing the final whistle in Binh Duong game, nearly all Da Nang players collapsed. It has been 8 games without a victory and there are now only 3 points separating the V-league 2009 champions and relegation play-off position. Frankly, they had played well until the end of first phase but things started to get terrible for them after the World Cup break. It would be a huge shame for Da Nang if it falls even lower. Da Nang headcoach Le Huynh Duc blamed injury crisis for unexpected results but it didn't convince the fans. Maybe it's time for the young coach to find another club.
