Vietnam to play XM Hai Phong

In preparation for the coming Asian Cup Qualifier match against Lebanon in January, Vietnam national team will play a friendly match against V-League side Xi Mang Hai Phong at Lach Tray Stadium on December 24. SEA Games U23 player Thanh Luong anh Thanh Hung were also called up for this game.

Xi Mang Hai Phong (or Hai Phong Cement) is not far too strange to a lot of football fans in the region. They were well-known for successfully persuading former Brazil international Denilson to join their club early this year. Although Denilson has left, many V-League stars have come to XM Hai Phong afterward. The club now is virtually a brand new one compared to itself last season. It's gonna be a tough test for Vietnam.

I'm not a XM Hai Phong fan but honestly this team's squad is one of the best in V-League at the moment. What remains is how the coaches would make that bunch of stars play well and win something. XM Hai Phong will be without Pham Minh Duc and Nguyen Minh Chau for Vietnam NT.

XM Hai Phong players to watch:

XMHP captain Leandro is widely considered
best player of V-League 2009

John Wole, one of best V-League central defenders,
joining XMHP from HCMFC

Nigerian player Aniekan Ekpe, among the best (again!) midfielders of
last season, joining XMHP from Dong Thap

Vietnamese-Nigerian striker Dinh Hoang Max (12)
also left The Vissai Ninh Binh for XMHP

Dinh Hoang Max has earned one cap with Vietnam national team

Lazaro, joining XMHP from Quan Khu 4,
scored 14 goals/26 matches last season

Former Nam Dinh playmaker Nguyen Duc Duong
is a Vietnam international

Goalkeeper Bui Quang Huy, second-choice of Vietnam national team,
also joined XMHP from Nam Dinh
