Helio excluded

According to the squad list on AFC website, Nguyen Hoang Helio, a naturalized player, is not registered for AFC Cup by SLNA. Helio is considered the most important player in SLNA defence. I can understand that SLNA wants to keep one or two of their key players fit for V-League. In replacement of the Brazil-born player, Cameroonian defender Thierry Ngale is registered. Note that Ngale is not even registered for V-League 2011.

Tough days for Ha Noi T&T

Having just lost two consecutive games against SHB Da Nang and Lam Son Thanh Hoa, Ha Noi T&T will need to sort themselves up to prepare for next two difficult away games. The first one will be against a very strong Thai side Muang Thong United as their opening game of AFC Cup campaign. The second one will be at Pleiku stadium where Ha Noi T&T was destroyed 1-4 by HAGL last season.

Comparing to Binh Duong and SHB Da Nang, who represented Vietnam at AFC Cup last year, Ha Noi T&T doesn't have such good squad. It's even harder for V-League 2010 champions when they are pooled with two best teams from Singapore and Thailand. Advancing to next round is a possible task but I don't think Ha Noi T&T is top favourite in its group.

Club official website and fan site

One bad thing about Vietnamese clubs is their official websites. They lack both quantity and quality. It's surprising that they can pay a great deal of money to buy players and pay their salary but cannot have a decent website. It shows kinda lack of professionalism. Even V-League 2010 champions Ha Noi T&T doesn't have anything on the internet. Just google Ha Noi T&T, it displays nothing but some brief news and a poor Wikipedia page. Ha Noi T&T and Navibank Saigon are also only two V-League clubs that have no official site or fan site.

Official websites:
Binh Duong: http://www.bongdabinhduong.com/
A decent website. At least we can find the squad list with players pics, fixtures and some helpful info.

SLNA: http://www.slnafc.com/
No player data, no fixture but the news is updated pretty quickly from newspaper.

Hoa Phat Ha Noihttp://hoaphatfc.com.vn/
There's more news about Manchester City than Hoa Phat Ha Noi. No players info. No fixture.

Khatoco Khanh Hoahttp://clb-bongda.khatoco.com/
There's some news about the club, squad list, fixtures but generally the website is poorly designed.

HAGL: http://www.hagl.com.vn/football/
A redesigned website. Good-looking and promising but very incomplete at the moment. HAGL used to have a better website with full players info as I remember.

Fan sites: Generally you can find more info about the club in fan sites than in official sites. Especially, SLNA, Dong Thap and Hai Phong sites are good ones with a large number of regular members.
SLNA:

Ninh Binh 1-1 Thanh Hoa (1-3 pen.)
Khanh Hoa 1-3 HAGL
Binh Duong 1-1 Navibank Saigon (9-10 pen.)
SLNA 4-2 Sai Gon Xuan Thanh

This round saw a new record of penalty shootout in Binh Duong vs Navibank Sai Gon game. Both team took 12 turns to decide the winner.

Rare pics of Cang Sai Gon in 1980s

The game was between Cang Sai Gon FC and Thai Port (?). Look at the crowd, it was really impressive in comparison to the quiet Thong Nhat stadium nowadays.

New striker for Ha Noi T&T?

Ha Noi T&T may add one more striker to their squad before V-League 2011 continues. Joshep Laumann, a German player, has been seen training with the club. He can be a good addition for AFC Cup campaign of V-League 2010 champions given their lack of quality strikers up front.

Former United midfielder Kleberson may move to Vietnam

Kleberson, 31, is looking for a new club after his contract at Flamengo expired. His agent has contacted Vietnamese clubs to see if any club is interested in a move for him. The Brazilian is said to be ready to fly to Vietnam right in February if a good offer is proposed. Of course, his income demand is very high.
