Duong Hong Son's wishes

If God gave Vietnam's goalkeeper Duong Hong Son, who was MVP of AFF Cup 2008, two wishes, I bet he would want two new rules in football:
1. No free-kick in opponent's half.
2. No cross higher than 2 meters.

2007: Vietnam v Japan: 1-4
2 goals from crosses, 1 from free-kick. He looked so poor and nervous.

2008: Thailand v Vietnam: 2-0
He just watched the first goal from free-kick. And the second one...well, what else can I say?

2009: Ha Noi T&T v Hai Phong: 0-1
'You blocked my view, idiot!' screamed Duong Hong Son.

2009: Ha Noi T&T v Khanh Hoa: 2-3
You want to score into Duong Hong Son's goal? Just pump the ball in!

V-League 2010 Round 21: Ha Noi T&T made big step toward first title

Binh Duong v Ha Noi T&T: 0-2 (Cao Sy Cuong, Ngoc Duy)
The Super Sunday game was not good as expected. A dive of Vo Duy Nam earned Ha Noi T&T an early goal from penalty. The second goal came from a terrible mistake of Binh Duong defender. Although Binh Duong controlled the ball throughout the game, they were unable to break the heavy defense of visitors. Ha Noi T&T got a crucial but unconvincing victory.

Da Nang v Ninh Binh: 1-1 (Merlo - Ngoc Huy)
HAGL v Navibank Sai Gon: 0-1 (Opara)
Hoa Phat v Hai Phong: 4-3 (Isaac, Timothy Anjembe (3) - Lazaro (2), Victor)
Thanh Hoa v Khanh Hoa: 3-2 (Xuan Hop, Bao Khanh, Mauro - Agostinho, Nogues)
DT Long An v Nam Dinh: 1-0 (Antonio)
SLNA v Dong Thap: 2-0 (Quang Tinh, Trong Hoang)

What are Bahraini thinking ?

Da Nang's AFC Cup quarter-final opponent Al Riffa wants both two legs to be played in Bahrain because they can't find travel route to Vietnam. LOL. Of course, the AFC has rejected this unreasonable request.

Al Riffa must play in Vietnam: AFC

I remember Syrian club Al Karamah traveled between Syria and Vietnam 2 times in a week last year without complaining. And Da Nang, are they supposed to return to Vietnam after playing the first leg? Al Riffa can ask them for a lift. LOL

Dutch striker Sergio van Dijk will play for Indonesia

Watch out!! Indonesia is likely to have a Netherlands-born striker for next AFF Cup at the end of this year. Sergio van Dijk, whose mother is Indonesian, is completing necessary formalities that will allow him to play for Indonesia. He is currently playing for Adelaide United in Australia.

Enough football for this summer

It seems that World Cup 2010 is still taking its toll on V-League. After a busy summer with the world's biggest competition, Vietnamese football fans have forgotten domestic games which are played on their own land. Last round of V-League saw only 32,500 spectators turn up for 7 games, averagely 4,643 per game.
